The Memcom MPS is an easy-to-fit solution to provide external emergency telephone points for the lift engineer in the shaft, pit or machine room. It also allows local communication between these different points of the lift installation, which is a real benefit during the commissioning and installation phases. Using a twisted pair of wires, up to 3 MPS units can be wired in parallel back to the Memcom. The system is fully supported by the Memcom integral battery, but can be boosted using 24v DC.

The MPS is normally installed in the Lift Machine Room, Pit or under the Cabin and connected using a twisted pair of wires to the Memcom. An emergency call can be generated from any of these locations by pressing the red alarm button, this is routed through the Memcom installed on the lift.

The MPS does not require a separate power supply and only needs a twisted pair for power and two-way communication. The power consumption of the MPS is very low even when installed as part of a complete Memcom system as in Fig 1. The battery power in the Memcom is able to fully support the complete system in a power failure emergency.
